Pests in meat factory – flies
August 21, 2017OUR BIRD PROOFING, PREVENTION & REMOVAL SERVICE
October 2, 2017Pests can be a huge nuisance, and can be expensive in terms of time and money. So it’s best to try and prevent an infestation before it occurs. Here are 5 ways to eradicate pests from your premises:
- Keep your premises clean, to avoid attracting pests in the first place! Pests such as rodents and cockroaches love overflowing bins and food spillages. Make sure bins are emptied regularly and you have a regular cleaning schedule.
- Make your premises as pest-proof as possible, to prevent pests. It’s always best to prevent infestation, rather than deal with the consequence of it! Measures could include blocking up any holes, bristle strips on doors and fly screens. It could also include simple things such as keeping the doors shut!
- Train your staff on pest awareness, so they can recognise potential problems, e.g. overflowing bins, or signs of infestation. Often, early detection is essential to prevent outbreaks of pests. Here at Premier Pest Control, we provide this training for staff, as we know how important this is. Also, have a system of reporting problems, (such as a log book), where staff can enter in the information for the pest controller. The more information we have, the better we can deal with it.
- Call in a professional! If you try and treat the pests yourself, it may cost you more time and money in the long run. Professional pest controllers have years of training and experience at treating pests and have access to products that members of the public don’t have, as well as lots of specialist knowledge. However, there are a lot of pest controllers out there, so make sure you use a reputable one, who is a member of The British Pest Control Association.
- Have a pest control contract in place. This way, you will get access to specialist advice and expertise whenever you need it. Premier Pest Control can visit your premises several times a year. We inspect your premises and work to prevent pest infestations in the first place, rather than deal with infestations, which costs time and money. Each time, we give you a report on things that you can improve, and any areas which may be at risk of causing infestations. Also, any signs of early infestation will be noted, and you will be given advice on how to deal with it all. If we do see signs of infestation, we deal with them immediately. And of course, you can call us out if you see any pests and one of our friendly team will be there within 24 hours.
